What We Believe

Tree Of life statement of faith

Tree of Life Tabernacle is a Torah-observant, Holy Spirit–filled Messianic congregation devoted to Messiah Yeshua (Jesus), the promised Redeemer of Israel and Savior of the world
(Deuteronomy 18:15; Isaiah 53; Jeremiah 23:5-6).

The Gospel of Messiah Yeshua
  • We believe the Good News was delivered by the apostles and eyewitnesses of Yeshua’s majesty (John 21:24; 2 Peter 1:16).
We affirm that:
  • Messiah died for our sins in fulfillment of the Hebrew Scriptures (Isaiah 53; Psalm 22; Daniel 9:26; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4)
  • He was buried (Isaiah 53:9)
  • He was resurrected on the third day according to the Scriptures (Psalm 16:10; Hosea 6:2; Jonah 1:17; Luke 24:44)
  • After His resurrection, Yeshua appeared to His apostles for forty days (Acts 1:3), ascended into heaven (Psalm 110:1; Daniel 7:13–14; Acts 1:9), and is seated at the right hand of the Father (Hebrews 1:3). He intercedes as our High Priest (Psalm 110:4) until His enemies are made His footstool (Psalm 110:1; Hebrews 1:13).
The Divinity of Messiah
  • We believe Yeshua is the eternal Word and Son of God through whom all things were created (Genesis 1:1–3; Proverbs 8:22–31; John 1; Colossians 1; Hebrews 1).
  • The Son was not created but begotten of the Father (Psalm 2:7)
  • Conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:23)
  • Fully God and fully man (Micah 5:2; Philippians 2:5–7; Colossians 2:9)
  • Called Mighty God and Everlasting Father (Isaiah 9:6)
  • Distinct from the Father, yet one in divine unity (Psalm 110:1; John 10:30)
  • Those who deny His deity remain in their sins (Isaiah 43:11; John 8:23–24).

Salvation by Grace Through Faith
  • We believe salvation belongs to the Lord alone (Jonah 2:9; Acts 4:12)
  • The righteous live by faith (Habakkuk 2:4; Romans 1:17)
  • We are saved by grace, not by works (Ephesians 2:8-9)
  • God calls all people to repentance (Ezekiel 18:23; Acts 17:30)
  • Repentance and faith are granted by God’s mercy (Jeremiah 31:18–19; 2 Timothy 2:25)
  • The Torah reveals sin and instructs in righteousness (Psalm 19:7-11; Romans 3:20). Faith does not abolish the Torah but establishes it lawfully (Romans 3:31; 1 Timothy 1:8). Grace teaches us to deny lawlessness (Titus 2:12; Ezekiel 36:26-27).

Israel and the New Covenant
  • We believe the New Covenant was promised to the House of Israel and the House of Judah (Jeremiah 31:31-34; Hebrews 8:8).
Through Messiah’s blood:
  • Jew and Gentile are grafted into one olive tree (Romans 11; Isaiah 56:6-8)
  • God creates one new man in Messiah (Ephesians 2:14-16)
  • Those who belong to Messiah are Abraham’s offspring (Genesis 12:3; Galatians 3:29)
  • We observe the covenant Passover instituted by Yeshua (Exodus 24:8; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26), proclaiming His death, burial, resurrection and ascension until He comes.

Torah, Sabbath, and the Appointed Times
  •  We believe God’s commandments are holy, righteous, and good (Deuteronomy 4:6-8; Psalm 119).
  • The Sabbath is a perpetual covenant sign (Genesis 2:2-3; Exodus 31:16-17; Leviticus 23:3)
  • The Biblical Feasts are appointed times of the Lord (Leviticus 23) and prophetically reveal Messiah’s redemptive plan (Zechariah 14:16; Isaiah 66:22-23; Colossians 2:16-17) Which He will complete upon His return!
  • Biblical dietary instructions distinguish holy from common (Leviticus 11; Ezekiel 44:23; Acts 15:20)
  • Gentiles were to start with the basics because they would here the Torah taught every sabbath and learn the rest over time. (Acts 15:20-21)
  •  We pursue obedience with humility and refuse division over disputable matters (Romans 14).

Baptism and the Holy Spirit
  • We believe repentance precedes immersion (Ezekiel 36:25; Acts 2:38)
  • Believers are called to be immersed in the Holy Spirit (Joel 2:28-29; Acts 1:5; 19:1-6)
  • The gifts of the Spirit continue for the edification of the body (1 Corinthians 12; Zechariah 4:6)
  • God appoints leadership gifts to equip His people (Ephesians 4:11–13; Exodus 18:21)
  • We are committed to Spirit-led worship and ministry as we await Messiah’s return.
Life, Holiness, and Community
We believe Scripture defines holiness:
  • Marriage is a covenant between one man and one woman (Genesis 2:24; Malachi 2:14; Matthew 19:4-6)
  • Sexual immorality is sin (Leviticus 18; 1 Corinthians 6:9-11)
  • God calls His people to be holy as He is holy (Leviticus 19:2; 1 Peter 1:15-16)
Transformation and freedom are available through the Spirit of God (Ezekiel 36:26-27; 1 Corinthians 6:11).
We believe in the importance of gathering as a holy convocation (Leviticus 23:3; Hebrews 10:25), making disciples (Daniel 12:3; Matthew 28:19-20), and caring for widows, orphans and those in need inside the community (Deuteronomy 10:18; James 1:27).
Leadership and Authority
  • We believe congregations are led by biblically qualified elders (Exodus 18:25–26; Acts 14:23; Titus 1:5).
  • Elders must meet scriptural qualifications (1 Timothy 3; Deuteronomy 1:13)
  • Matters are established by two or three witnesses (Deuteronomy 19:15; 1 Timothy 5:19)
  • Scripture alone is the final authority (Isaiah 8:20; 2 Timothy 3:16)
The Authority of Scripture
We affirm the 66 books of the Bible as the inspired and authoritative Word of God (2 Timothy 3:16; Deuteronomy 4:2; Revelation 22:18-19).
The Word of the Lord stands forever (Isaiah 40:8), and it is by His Word that humanity will be judged (Deuteronomy 18:19; Matthew 22:31).
Our Distinctives and Mission
  • We believe God is restoring the fallen Tabernacle of David (Amos 9:11-12; Acts 15:16-17), bringing Jews and Gentiles together under the reign of Messiah.
We are committed to:
  • Unity over division (Psalm 133:1; John 17:21)
  • Spirit-filled worship (2 Chronicles 5:13-14; Acts 2)
  • Righteous living in anticipation of Messiah’s Kingdom (Isaiah 2:2-4; Daniel 7:27)
We joyfully await the return of Yeshua, who will reign from Zion (Isaiah 24:23; Zechariah 14:9).
